Scanning products

Remote sensing quality

We can deliver any customized product associated with aerial LiDAR scanning. From raw data to highly specialised maps and models. If you are not sure of what products you can benefit from, we are always here to assist you.

The basic and most common products from a LiDAR survey are:

Laser scanning:
- Classified point cloud
- Digital Terrain Model (DTM)
- Digital Surface Model (DSM)
- Contour line maps
- 2D/3D modeling

Ortho photo mosaic
- Color
- Monochrome
- Near infrared (NIR)

Classified point cloud

Point cloud from LiDAR Mapping

The basis of a LiDAR scanning is the point cloud, which represents all objects reflecting a laser pulse.

To make it possible to filter and  distinguish the object represented by the individual points, the point cloud is classified into different categories as terrain, high / medium / low vegetation, buildings, water etc.
The choice of categories depends on what the data is to be used for.

Digital Terrain Model

Digital Terrain Model (DTM) Ffom laser scanning

The Digital Terrain Model (DTM) is a model of the naked earth surface with vegetation and manmade structures removed.

The requirements and format of the DTM can vary depending on use and preference. We can deliver the DTM in many formats ie. as point cloud, gridded or triangulated.

Ortho photo mosaic

Ortho photo mosaic from LiDAR mapping

The ortho photo mosaic is one large photo of the entire project area.

The mosaic is geometrically corrected, and can be used for measuring of distances.

We can deliver the mosaic in many different formats and tile sizes to ensure the best performance depending on use and hardware.

Quality

Quality control system

Producing high quality LiDAR data requires a structured and disciplined integration of several essential elements that are necessary for successful survey projects.
Consequently, our primary focus is to operate with highly integrated laser scanners, planning software, flying platform, flight planning as well as execution, quality monitoring, feedback and data processing.
To ensure flexible operations, efficient feedbacks, complete and accurate datasets, we follow and track the whole project process, from start to finish.

Planning

Lidar Survey planning

Planning is the key to high quality data, especially when it comes to LiDAR data. The right planning and conditions have a huge impact on the end result.  Inadequate integration of the essential elements mentioned can lead to poor data quality and unreliable results. To us, poor results are not an option, and we are always ready to go the extra mile to ensure the highest quality.

Flying

Helicopter flying LiDAR mission

With experienced pilots, trained in survey flying, we ensure that data are collected in the planned altitude and pattern. During the flight, the system operator's main task is to guarantee that all data are checked continually for quality and coverage. If some portions of the data do not meet the required specifications, we are always ready to return and fly the affected areas again, until all the data meet the specifications agreed upon.

Coordination

Quality certification ISO 9001

It is essential that everybody involved is committed to the project. At the same time it is also important that one person is responsible for the results and follows it all the way through. This is especially important when data changes hands from one department or organisation to another. Thus, in order to ensure qualitative and reliable data, we are involved throughout the entire project.

Data specification

Data specification should always relate to the need and use of data.

Typical specifications

Horizontal accuracy (x,y):           5 - 10 cm   (std.div.)
Vertical accuracy (z):                  2 - 5 cm   (std.div.)
Point density                               5 - 50 points/m2
GSD (pixel size)                          2.5 - 10 cm

Technology

Riegl, Applanix, Novatel, Hasselblad

We use the latest technology from world leading hard- and software venders as Riegl, Applanix, Novatel and Hasselblad. A combination of the Riegl VQ480i scanner and Applanix POSTrack 510 IMU/GNSS system gives some of the most reliable and accurate data in the field of aerial laserscanning and with the right skilled processing it is the best possible solution in the majority of cases.

We have built the equipment specifically to be platform independent, which gives us vide options to use best suited platform for the specific project. From local fixed wings, helicopters and drones. All to ensure the best possible quality and reliability without using resources unnecessarily by moving heavy equipment and large airplanes across the world.

Please do not hesitate to contact us if you have questions regarding specifications

About us

The true flexible LiDAR setup

Building on our worldwide experience of providing airborne LiDAR scanning, we have been inspired to expand due to a significant interest from companies requiring increased quality and efficiency in airborne LiDAR scanning all around the world.

Our objective is to provide our customers with the highest quality LiDAR-survey data obtainable, while still offering significant savings.

We take on end-to-end projects, but we also deliver raw data to other lidar acquisition companies in need of ad hoc capacity or have projects located outside their normal operation area.

To us, quality, flexibility and safety are essential; thus, we focus on meeting all demands and expectations for LiDAR-projects of any size and scope.

Our primary strengths are:

   –  Flight and LIDAR scanning is our core business
   –  We take responsibility and are flexible
   –  We focus to immediately solve any problems that may arise
   –  We operate the latest and most advanced equipment
   –  Know how, innovation and high professionalism are the foundation of our work
   –  We enjoy our work and it is natural for us to involve ourselves in what we do
   –  We have adapted our production to be smooth and flexible, so that we can respond quickly
